Three Dogs / Retail Design is specialised in the design of branded retail environments and visual merchandising concepts. Through years of experience in the Asia-Pacific region and China in particular, we have gained valuable insights on what engages shoppers and how to apply this knowledge to build distinctive retail brands and drive sales. We leverage our understanding of retail operations and design management to minimise cost and maximise the effectiveness and quality of brand roll-outs.
Our international team of architects, designers, and project managers works from a comfortable loft space one minute away from Soho and the former Central Police Station compound. To realise our projects, we work closely with a network of retail-related consulting, manufacturing, contracting, service & technology partners and building professionals. Three Dogs was founded in Hong Kong in 1996 by Dutch designers Sjoerd Hoekstra, a graduate of the Design Academy and Esther van Wijck, a Gerrit Rietveld Academy graduate. The studio name and identity is inspired by the three dogs they adopted after moving to Hong Kong.
